Cape Codders, Join us for a rally in Hyannis!

We’ve learned that there may be a group of Trump supporters counter-protesting in the same location. (Local news story about counter protesters.) We need to show up in large numbers! We ask that those of you who show up to support impeachment not engage with the counter protesters – just outnumber them.

Grab your umbrellas and a friend or two and meet us in Hyannis!

Due to the large crowd expected, we are relocating our rally location to 545 Iyannough Road/Rt. 132. This is a flat green fenced-in town-owned property at the junction of Rt. 132 and Falmouth Road/Rt. 28, at the Hyannis Rotary.

Find parking that doesn’t involve your crossing the rotary, Rt. 28, or Rt. 132. Best bet might be to look west of the venue site off Rt. 28/Falmouth Road and walking through nearby mall parking lots.  Please do not park in the church lot adjacent to the protest location. More on Hyannis location change here.

There will also be two more events on the Cape:

12 noon, Peg Noonan Park
Falmouth, MA 02540 RSVP HERE

3:30 pm, Mill Creek Park across from Sandwich Town Hall
Bring bells, whistles, drums, pots, and spoons so that we can raise a ruckus!

And, over the bridge in Plymouth:

Plymouth Rock
Plymouth, MA 02360 RSVP HERE

The day before the House of Representatives takes a solemn vote to impeach Trump, Cape Cod Indivisible groups and allies will hold a demonstration in Hyannis from 1:00-2:00PM to declare that Nobody Is Above the Law (and in other local towns as noted above) Join us in a historic nationwide mobilization on the eve of Trump’s impeachment vote. As the event will be “rapid response” (i.e., we have no set date at this time), it is important that you register on the MoveOn site to receive updates on late-breaking plans.

The Impeach & Remove event will be a free, visible, family-friendly, public gathering to demonstrate to lawmakers that we, their constituents, support their defense of the Constitution—and that Trump has left us no alternative but to support his impeachment and removal from office. Event organizers are committed to nonviolent, peaceful action. All participants must agree to act lawfully and seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

In the conclusion of her findings that Trump’s former personal attorney must testify before Congress, Federal District Judge Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson noted that according to the Constitution, Trump does not have unilateral power to prevent witnesses from testifying, “no one is above the law.”

Let’s rally together to send that message to Donald J. Trump!
