Protest the Trump Administration’s Vicious Treatment of Migrant Families

SATURDAY, JUNE 9 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM* Orleans/Eastham Rotary, Rt. 6
See Google map location here.

Join a peaceful standout protest of the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) cruel practice of separating migrant children from their families at the border,  which is now official U.S. policy.

Over 650 children–some as young as just a year old–were ripped from their families in the first 14 days of our government’s announced plans to ramp up prosecutionsfor  border crossing.

This U.S. policy, which punishes refugees for being refugees, is a flagrant violation of United Nations norms for refugee treatment.  Not only an immigration issue, this policyis a human rights issue.

See this story for information about the UN declaring the US as being in violation of human rights:  UN calls U.S. family separation policy “serious violation” of rights

*From 2:30 – 3:30, we will break for a circle meeting in the adjacent Orleans Courthouse parking lot to share ideas, form immigration and refugee rights action groups, and plan for an all-Cape protest on June 30.

All are welcome! Bring signs related to racism, immigration, and refugees such as “Change Immigration Policy Now!, Is THIS the America We Want? No Kids in Cages!”

For safety reasons, please park at the courthouse or nearby shopping malls. Please do not “hop” rotary islands; choose one access point at roadside and stay there.
