PROTEST FOR WOMEN’S RIGHTS!! Bigger Than Dobbs II: Stop the GOP War on Women

PROTEST FOR WOMEN’S RIGHTS!! Anniversary of Overturning Dobbs
Date: Saturday, June 28th
Time: 5:00PM-6:00PM
Location: The public sidewalk across the street from the mall

The anniversary of the Dobbs decision is June 24th. Across our Commonwealth and the country we will be protesting this court decision Saturday June 28!!

We will stand out to protest the overturning of the Dobbs decision and the dangerous changes to women’s reproductive health! Last year, Indivisibles warned the public about Project 2025 and that abortion is just the “tip of the iceberg” and Republicans are trying to “turn back the clock” with antiquated laws like the Comstock Act. This year we are seeing the implementation of Project 2025’s regressive, white, christian patriarchy which targets women. Indivisibles are sounding the alarm across Massachusetts about attacks on our rights and freedoms from voting to bodily autonomy.

SAFETY:

Don’t go in the road and don’t go in the middle of the rotary. Police can shut us down if this happens. Attendees please help remind others to not go in or too near the road.  Be mindful not to block cars visibility.

The police will protect our right to protest, but if there are safety concerns, the police can and will shut us down. It is the responsibility of all attendees to follow all safety guidelines.

If there are counter protesters, DO NOT ENGAGE AT ALL. If attendees engage, the police can shut us down. We don’t want this to happen!!

Notify a safety warden (in a neon vest) in your area of any disturbance immediately before it can escalate. Everyone must act responsibly and obey instructions from organizers and police.

Attendees: Do not engage. Step away. Alert a safety warden. Help safety wardens remind others of these guidelines.

Your calm response is your power.

If you feel you need to start videoing for any reason, you are encouraged to do so. It will be good record keeping. Please continue to ignore the agitator(s) and find a safety warden, in a neon vest. We don’t expect any violence. We expect this to be a peaceful, safe, event to show our care, community, and courage.

Before you leave:

Make sure to leave the space better than when you arrived.

If anything needs to be cleaned up (signs, trash etc.) please lend a hand.

Also, if you’re not already part of an “Indivisible” group, make sure to get a “palm card” before you leave, with a QR card of how to join. There will be donation buckets if you would like to leave a few dollars to support the “Indivisible” groups on Cape Cod.

A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values, and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. All events will be held in public spaces or on public property.
