Date and time: Thu, Jul 17, 4:30pm-6:00pm EDT
Location: Airport Rotary
499 Barnstable Road, Hyannis, MA 02601
This is the next national event coordinated by 50501 and Invisible national! Don’t miss out, bring a friend.
Want to help out! Volunteer here.
Corruption destroys. community builds. As with all of our visibility events, we will be collecting nonperishable food, personal care items, and men’s clothing (size large and up). This time items will be donated to: The Mens Healing Lodge, 308 Hooppole Road, Mashpee MA.
With national events, we usually spread out to all 5 rotary locations, but if our numbers will be smaller, we will just be at the grassy area in-between Barnstable road and route 28 heading towards Yarmouth (the “Nantucket sound” area.)
Please carpool or consider public transit. Please park in a way that doesn’t interfere with local businesses. You must be a customer to park in some lots. *Please don’t cross the road unless absolutely necessary. If you must, it is safer to cross further away from the rotary exit/entrance than closer towards it.
Theme: We demand an end to:
1. The extreme crackdown on our civil rights by the Trump administration, from our right to vote to our right to protest and free speech.
2. The attacks on black and brown Americans, immigrants, trans people, and other communities.
3. The slashing of programs that working people rely on, including Medicaid, SNAP, and Social Security.
IMPEACH, CONVICT, REMOVE, & REPEAT as many times as necessary!
Good Trouble Lives On is a national day of nonviolent action to respond to the attacks posed on our civil and human rights by the Trump administration and to remind them that in America, the power lies with the people.
On July 17, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing, we’re taking action across the country to defend our democracy and carry forward his legacy of Good Trouble.
From voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act to the criminalization of protest, the Trump administration is launching a full-scale attack on our civil and human rights. But we know the truth: in America, the power lies with the people, and we’re rising to prove it.
This is more than a protest; it’s a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead, and a new front in the struggle for freedom.
Please note: A core principle behind our Good Trouble Lives On actions is a commitment to nonviolence in all we do. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
[please note, we have cross posted this event to be on the good
trouble lives on map as well as through our groups own indivisble
account]
