Stand in solidarity with our Veterans and honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
Unite for Veterans, Unite for America
We remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
WE PROTEST TRUMP’S BETRAYAL OF VETERANS, including THE CUTS TO THE VA and NOT UPHOLDING THE CONSTITUTION.
******Corruptions destroys, Community Builds: We will be collecting personal care items and/or nonperishable food items to be donated to the Cape Cod & Islands Veterans Outreach in Hyannis. ******
As always, please bring signs, flags, drums, other instruments, chants, art, etc., as joy is resistance, art is resistance, community is resistance.
[Joyful community resistance to fascism]
As with every protest, we also want to highlight the extreme unconstitutional practices of this administration, as this is not just about policies.
This is NOT business as usual in DC, this is NOT normal.
This republican administration has attempted to seize control over state election processes through executive orders and efforts to undermine civil rights legislation, as well as threatening the checks and balances established by the Constitution, such as disregarding court orders and altering federal regulations without proper authority. The administration is using its current power to help billionaires continue to profit while striping away the services that help the most needy.
We need to stand up for due process, free speech, upholding court rulings, and the separation of church and state. The Founding Fathers established the principles of due process, free speech, and the separation of church and state through the First Amendment and other parts of the Constitution. These concepts were designed to protect individual rights and limit government power.
We have NO KINGS in America, yet Trump is acting like one.
We, the people, must rise up, and show that the power of the people is greater than the people in power.

For this standout, because of heavy traffic, please use only the grassy area near Nantucket Sound. Police are concerned about heavy traffic and ask us to be mindful of the volume of traffic and the calls they deal with on during such holiday weekends.
Parking: Please carpool.
Free parking: If you park in business lots, police have asked us not to interfere with those businesses or take spots needed by customers doing business. If you need to drop someone off before parking farther away, please use the parking lots on Barnstable road. not the side of a road.
Paid parking: the airport, with the total cost $12 or less. (https://flyhya.com/parking-transportation/parking/)
Public Transit: There is also the cape cod RTA. There are many lines that can connect you to Hyannis. From there, you get on the “Barnstable Villager” line and can get off at the mall or the landing at hyannis, or you can simply tap to get off when the bus approaches the rotary, they will stop if you tap the yellow line. SAFETY:
Stand near where you parked to avoid crossing roads unnecessarily.
The rotary is a busy area and most parts do NOT have a crosswalk. If you park at the mall overflow, or The Landing at Hyannis, there is a crosswalk down there by the lights if you want to get to a specific grass area, the mall side will bring you to the church, bank or Nantucket sound, the landing at Hyannis side will bring you to Wendy’s or the airport. Remember, the drivers on the rotary are extremely distracted, so it’s up to you to be mindful, cautious, and safe at all times.
Make sure to stay on the grass, a few feet away from the curb. Stay in the designated area. We are allowed to be on public/town land. We can walk the easements in front of the stores to reach the locations. Don’t go in the road and don’t go in the middle of the rotary. Police can shut us down if this happens. Attendees please help remind others to not go in or too near the road. Be mindful not to block cars visibility for entering the rotary. Notice where the “exit” sign is for your area.
The police will protect our right to protest, but if there are safety concerns, the police can and will shut us down. It is the responsibility of all attendees to follow all safety guidelines.
If there are counter protesters, DO NOT ENGAGE AT ALL. If attendees engage, the police can shut us down. We don’t want this to happen!!
Notify a safety warden (in a neon vest) in your area of any disturbance immediately before it can escalate. Everyone must act responsibly and obey instructions from organizers and police.
Attendees: Do not engage. Step away. Alert a safety warden. Help safety wardens remind others of these guidelines.
Your calm response is your power.
If you feel you need to start videoing for any reason, you are encouraged to do so. It will be good record keeping. Please continue to ignore the agitator(s) and find a safety warden, in a neon vest. We don’t expect any violence. We expect this to be a peaceful, safe, event to show our care, community, and courage.
Kid Zone:
This is a space for families to connect will be available on Nantucket Sound side to the left of the brick Leased building across from CVS. Park on Staples side for best access. Crosswalk available by KFC if needed.
Location: Nantucket Sound side, left of brick Leased building.
*This is NOT a zone for parents to drop off or be relieved of their responsibilities of watching their own kid. The purpose is to create a fun and safe connection space for parents who ALREADY plan to bring their kids.
Before you leave:
Make sure to leave the space better than when you arrived.
If anything needs to be cleaned up (signs, trash etc.) please lend a hand.
Also, if you’re not already part of an “Indivisible” group, make sure to get a “palm card” before you leave, with a QR card of how to join. There will be donation buckets if you would like to leave a few dollars to support the “Indivisible” groups on Cape Cod.
A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values, and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. All events will be held in public spaces or on public property.
