Thank You to all who attended our protest rally!

Thank you for joining us Wednesday!
Original invitation:
TODAY’S PROTEST RALLY IN HYANNIS IS MOVING FORWARD! WE ARE MOBILIZING!
If you are not on Cape Cod- look here to see if an event near you has mobilized
This message just was sent to all who signed up for the Hyannis rally today:
We are very sorry for the delay. National organizations have been considering all our options and as you know we must be prepared to move at a moment’s notice, today or in the coming weeks!
Donald Trump is very predictable and his claim to victory at 2:30 am this morning, and his threat to use the courts to stop the vote counts, is deeply troubling. It is unknown whether he will be able to actually stop the ballot counting but we feel we must make our will be known.
The national coalition is not mobilizing immediately, but in order to Protect the Results they recognize now that we will need multiple actions. Since it is such late notice and so many of you are prepared to rally, our event will take place in Hyannis.
We knew this uncertainty could happen, and it’s why we got prepared in advance to protect not only the will of the voters, but our democracy. Thankfully, so many of you are signed up and ready.
So we’ll see you at 3pm today, at the Hyannis rotary. We have shifted this time slightly to help spread out the number of attendees to make social distancing easier. If you cannot attend until 4pm that is okay.
We will have signs on hand. Bring your masks and your own sign if you wish with the patriotic message to demand every vote be counted! No Biden (or Trump) signs please!
Please park at one of the shopping centers near the rotary (not the church parking lot on Hinckley Rd) so that you can walk safely to the rotary without crossing the highway. We will gather at the fenced-in grassy area opposite the airport (between Rt 132 and Rt 28).
Please follow the directions of our organizers and safety coordinators who will be monitoring for safe social distancing. Please bring a flashlight and dress appropriately for the weather.
PLEASE REMEMBER!
You are being asked not to respond to any negative opponents. This is a peaceful, nonviolent event, and we will not engage with those who come to disrupt.
We will not let votes go uncounted!

MORE ABOUT THE RALLIES:
Why protest? Trump has been making it clear he will challenge votes state-by-state with his newly slanted Supreme Court ready to support his efforts. According to an article in Axios Sunday, Trump is planning to declare victory on election night before all votes are counted:
President Trump has told confidants he’ll declare victory on Tuesday night if it looks like he’s “ahead,” according to three sources familiar with his private comments. That’s even if the Electoral College outcome still hinges on large numbers of uncounted votes in key states like Pennsylvania.
“Scoop: Trump’s plan to declare premature victory” Axios, 11/1/2020
Later, he promised he’d be challenging votes:
“I don’t think it’s fair that we have to wait for a long period of time after the election,” the president told journalists in North Carolina “As soon as the election is over – we’re going in with our lawyers.”
“Trump says he is preparing for legal challenges to vote counts as final sprint begins” The Guardian, 11/1/2020
We cannot let this happen, we must take to the streets and protest these actions!
From a recent Cape Cod Times story:
The aim of the rallies, which are planned as part of a nationwide Protect the Results action by Indivisible and other organizations, is to ensure all votes are counted and that there is a peaceful transition of power.
“Rally to protect the vote planned“
If there is any suggestion that legitimately cast votes will be challenged, we will get a message from the national organizers and will hold these protest rallies. If you are not on Cape Cod- look here for an event.
We will take to the streets and take back the narrative. We will not let votes go uncounted!

DETAILS:
COUNT EVERY VOTE!
As Trump continues to make comments, like the one below, de-legitimizing the integrity of our election and implying that he won’t concede, grassroots activists across the country will come together to demand every vote be counted and to ensure a peaceful transition of power.
“Get rid of the ballots and you’ll have a very peaceful – there won’t be a transfer, frankly. There will be a continuation”
Donald Trump, September 23, 2020
Statements such as these will trigger nation-wide protests on November 4th and they will be followed by other peaceful, sustained actions until we achieve an accurate count.
Should Donald Trump refuse to accept or attempt to interfere with accurate election results, the Indivisible activists of the Cape and the Islands plan to gathe to ensure that every vote is counted and that Donald Trump honor the valid results of the 2020 election. We will be joining hundreds of other nation-wide actions to peacefully demand that EVERY VOTE BE COUNTED because DEMOCRACY COUNTS EVERY VOTE.
The final decision to rally will be made on the morning of November 4th and will be based on the actions of the president and/or GOP legislators should they make moves to stop or delegitimize the vote count.
Go to Protect the Results to register and stay up-dated.
All attendees MUST wear masks and maintain social distancing. All attendees must also refrain from engaging with passersby who may disagree with our message. This is a peaceful gathering with a patriotic message.
Ongoing actions are also being planned; some for those who feel unable to participate in in-person events. Please watch for more info soon. We need help for these sustained actions; please get in touch if you can spare an hour or two.
