Friday – One Day CALL TO ACTION – Tell Betsy DeVos to Protect Campus Sexual Assault Survivors!

Quick and Easy Action! Everything you need is here. Comments are open from 12 AM to 11:59 PM, Friday February 15.
The issue regarding rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment on college campuses:
In late 2018, Devos issued her own Title IX guidance, to the immediate alarm of advocates for sexual assault survivors and women’s rights groups. Among other things, the Devos rules restricts the scope of what counts as sexual harassment, limits the types of school employees responsible for reporting sexual assault, and narrows the very definition of what, exactly, counts as a campus sexual assault.

From the Enough is Enough Voter Project, What to do Friday:
We have one more chance to save Title IX from Betsy DeVos’ disastrous proposed changes. It is crucial that we overload her office with comments, so that the rules protecting campus rape survivors are not dismantled.
Friday, February 15, the comment period for the rule changes proposed by DeVos to Title IX will open up – for 24 hours only.
You can send comments protesting the rule changes in two ways:
- The portal for comments will open at 12:01am tonight. Log on to the comment portal between 12:01 am and 11:59 pm on Friday, February 15, and fill in the form. This is the method we recommend.
- Send a postcard by postal mail, explaining why you disagree with the proposed changes, postmarked on February 15, 2019. YOUR COMMENT WILL NOT COUNT UNLESS IT IS LITERALLY POSTMARKED Friday 2/15, to:
Brittany Bull
U.S. Department of Education
400 Maryland Ave. SW, Room 6E310
Washington, DC 20202
The changes to the rule would be devastating for victims of assault and rape on college campuses across the country. Survivors will have a harder time coming forward, and abuse will be swept under the rug. We can’t allow DeVos to dismantle these much needed protections for survivors.
