CALL TO ACTION – Time sensitive – Bill eliminates requirements that teens under 18 get written permission for abortions

H. 3649, An act to ensure teen safety, has been scheduled for a hearing on September 12th, beginning at 1:00 PM in room A1.  This bill is on Cape Cod Women for Change’s Priority Legislation list.

If you can’t make it to the State House, you can submit written testimony to NARAL by the end of the day, Friday September 8.

From Samantha Riemer, Director, NARAL MA

This bill would repeal existing state law that requires anyone under the age of 18 to obtain parental consent, or obtain a court order, to get an abortion.

We need as many people as possible to pack the room and show support for this bill, we also need testimony in support of the bill. Wear purple, I will also have t-shirts there to put on folks.

There will also be two anti bills heard that day, so again the more support we have in the room for pro-choice legislation the better.

Please let me know if you can attend the hearing, and I need all written testimony in support of the bill by Friday, September 8th.

Submit written testimony or contact Samantha if you want to attend the hearing via this email address: samantha@prochoicemass.org
