Update, hearing CANCELLED! Urgent Call to Action: House Oversight Committee must make hearings about links to Russia PUBLIC and Nunes must go
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED – sort of. It worked … AGAIN. for whatever reason they give, anyone who tried to call knows phones were jammed. Now the hearing scheduled for Tuesday has been CANCELLED. Reuters broke the news Monday: http://www.reuters.com/…/us-usa-trump-russia-hearing-idUSKB…
The following Call to Action has been posted on social media – please read, make as many calls as you can.
For a little background see:https://www.dailysabah.com/diplomacy/2017/01/18/fm-cavusoglu-meets-trumps-top-national-security-advisor A Turkish newspaper published this story in January, reporting on a meeting with Flynn and the PM. NUNES WAS THERE (see paragraph 4, it’s just one, very important, sentence.)
Washington Post: Chairman and partisan: The dual roles of Devin Nunes raise questions about House investigation
Nunes, 43, has said he is committed to leading an impartial inquiry into Russia’s interference in the 2016 U.S. election, and search for any evidence of coordination with Trump or his associates. But Nunes, who served as an adviser on Trump’s transition team, has also at times used his position as chair of the intelligence committee in ways that seem aligned with the interests of the White House.
Minority chair of the House Committee on Intelligence, Adam Schiff is asking the public to DEMAND the Trump/Russian ties hearing on MONDAY be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
Majority leader Nunes has decided it will now be CLOSED to the public and is also refusing to release information. Nunes has convincingly let us know protecting our democracy is NOT his top priority. Chair Nunes (202) 225-2523 BARRAGE Nunes with calls.
Since information will be discussed about the Trump Campaign’s ties to Russia, it is imperative that the American Public know first hand whether or not Trump and his associates committed treason.
1. Call or internet fax the Intel Committee’s Majority Staff: Ph: (202) 225-4121
Fax: (202) 225-1991
“This is X, calling from Y, It is completely outrageous, considering the shadiness that has already characterized the hearings regarding the administration’s Russian ties, that Chairman Nunes has closed them to the public.
Transparency has never been more critical to the legitimacy of our government than now. The public must hear this testimony. Reopen the hearings immediately. This country is losing faith in our Congress.”
2. Then call your representative and deliver the same message DEMANDING they make a public statement:
“This is X, calling from Y. I just learned that Chairman Nunes has closed the hearings about the Administration’s Russian ties to the public. This is completely outrageous, particularly considering the underhandedness that has already come to light. I call on Rep. Z to make a public statement calling for the reopening of the hearings.”
The following are phone numbers of GOP members. Important to target them individually as well. ESPECIALLY NUNES

(Also – call or fax Speaker Paul Ryan, Phone: (202) 225-0600; Fax: (202) 225-2012, he has the authority to remove Nunes as chair.)
We are also DEMANDING Nunes resignation for sharing information with Trump before sharing with his committee, counter to what his job dictates as chair of the Oversight committee who’s job is to keep the executive branch honest, not inform them of their wrong doing as we now know Nunes has been doing. By keeping the hearings closed, Nunes continues to protect Trump’s treasonous acts.
Clearly protecting our democracy is NOT, Nunes top priority.
